Applying Narrative Theory

After beginning to plan my narrative plot points it has become overt that I need to bring in my knowledge of  narrative theory to formulate it properly. Since my short film will include several flashbacks my narrative falls into the non-linear category and, as the narrative focuses on one character throughout it is single-strand. In addition to this I am using Allan Cameron's theory of modular narratives to define my use of flashbacks. According to his study this makes my narrative anachronic. I have decided to ignore Todonov's narrative formula which includes the establishment of the equilibrium and its disruption. As my planned film ends with the main character dying it breaks the conventions of Todonov's formula. Please see my previous entry on narrative theory for elaboration: Post
